Austin Atkins, MPAS, PA-C
Founder and Practitioner
Austin Atkins, MPAS, PA-C, is the founder and lead practitioner at our healthcare practice. A proud third-generation native of Lake Jackson, TX, Austin grew up immersed in a family legacy of community service. His deep roots in Brazoria County and passion for healthcare inspired him to create a practice focused on delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Education and Clinical Background
Austin earned his Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care from Texas State University and spent four years working in intensive care settings, including the Adult ICU at Seton Williamson County and Pediatrics at Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin. He later completed his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, with most clinical rotations in the Houston area. It was during rural primary care rotations that Austin discovered his true passion for family medicine—where hands-on, relationship-based care made the greatest impact.

Personal Health Journey & Holistic Philosophy
Austin was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at a young age and underwent lumbar spine surgery in 2024—experiences that have profoundly shaped his approach to medicine. Living with a chronic condition and recovering from major surgery gave him firsthand insight into the gaps in conventional care and the importance of looking beyond surface symptoms. Today, he is dedicated to helping patients uncover the root cause of their health concerns through a holistic and individualized approach.

Focus on Regenerative Medicine
A lifelong advocate for fitness and optimal health, Austin's interest in regenerative medicine led him to specialize in peptide therapy and hormone optimization. Peptide therapy—an emerging science that uses targeted peptides to regulate healing, metabolism, and performance—combined with hormone replacement has become a cornerstone of his practice.

In 2023, Austin co-founded Homegrown Healthcare with the mission of making advanced therapies like peptide treatment and hormone replacement more accessible to patients in Brazoria County. His goal is to empower individuals to take charge of their health using evidence-based, cutting-edge modalities not commonly available in traditional primary care settings.

Life Outside the Office
Austin thrives on the unpredictable nature of family medicine and the meaningful connections it fosters. Outside the clinic, he enjoys hunting, yard work, and spending quality time with his son Wyatt. One of his favorite pastimes is experimenting with new ways to prepare wild game, and he especially enjoys night-time hog hunting with his dad and their Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Doc Holliday.

Austin brings authenticity, grit, and innovation to his role as a provider—leading with experience, empathy, and a relentless drive to improve lives through functional, regenerative medicine.
